We're still gaining speed & catching stalls at close to record speed in Stall Catchers, while some stubborn leaders can't decide who gets the first place!

All about the Day 13 of the #CrushALZ competition below.

Join us! There's stalls to go around for everybody in Stall Catchers, and you'll be helping us fight Alzheimer's for real. Here's how: check this post.

Day 13
Start of day: April 18, 8pm ET
End of day: April 19, 8pm ET
Hours: 24

Teams: 22
Total vessels annotated: 12364 ↑5.75
Real vessels annotated: 6606↑1.30
-- Proportion of Real vessels: 53%
Progress toward research goal: 15.23%
Equivalent lab time: up to 7.9 weeks

Leading teams:

CitSciGamers seem to have taken the threat posed by Middle School STEM rather seriously, and have fought their way back to first position, leaving both middle schoolers and Stall Destroyers behind.

Meanwhile, Alzheimer's Research UK have jumped back to fourth place, leaving us at EyesOnALZ behind in the fifth!

All time results

Their stubbornness to win back the leader title got CitSciGamers to the top of the All time leaderboard as well! Middle School STEM were left behind, with Stall Destroyers in third place.

Looks like this race is going to be a close one! 😈

We just keep climbing!

  • == 1️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣!== That's right, 100 thousand milestone reached on Day 13, which includes over 50 thousand real vessels! Woohoo!

If you need a reminder about our research goals and the "real" vessels that are getting us closer to answering a new question about Alzheimer's and reduced brain blood flow, check this post: #CrushALZ research.

  • Still gaining speed! We have analysed even more total vessels on Day 13 than in Day 12, so our climb continues! If we keep at this speed, we can certainly #CrushALZ sooner

Good luck on Day 14 everyone - we're rapidly approaching the mid-way of the #CrushALZ competition!
